but Machinery Sales are cancelled

Updated on 18th March 2020

With immediate effect, we are offering a “Drop & Go” service at both our Livestock markets in Shrewsbury and Bishops Castle. Market staff will unload livestock and collect all paperwork, whilst vendors remain in their vehicles. Suitable handwash facilities are being provided and all visitors are being asked to regularly wash their hands.

Livestock markets are a vital part of the national food chain. We will continue to hold all livestock markets for all classes of livestock in Shrewsbury and Bishops Castle as scheduled whilst following and adhering to all Government and medical advice in respect of this the market canteens at both venues will be closed until further notice

We are requesting that only vendors, potential purchasers and hauliers enter the market premises and asks all onlookers, including family members, to stay away to minimise the number of people present. In line with Government advice it is recommended and requested the following do not attend:-

  • Any person that is knowingly ill, showing symptoms of the virus, or has an underlying health issue.
  • Those who are 70 and over
  • Ladies who are pregnant
  • Children

Anyone who has experienced any symptoms such as fever, shortness of breath, or a dry cough is asked not to attend, as is anyone who has been abroad in the past 14 days, or has come into contact with a positive Coronavirus (Covid-19) case.

Machinery sales at Shrewsbury and Kidderminster are cancelled until further notice to protect all clients and staff.

Our Market Manager, Jonny Dymond commented: “We are constantly monitoring the Government website to keep updated with any changes in advice and will take any actions that are required, so these arrangements may change at any time so we encourage all our customers to visit our website and Facebook pages.

“If everyone plays their role we are confident the crucial service provided by livestock markets will continue.”
