Frequently Asked Questions

Working from 9 offices across Shropshire, Worcestershire, Mid-Wales, the West Midlands and neighbouring counties, we have an unrivalled knowledge of our local markets. Together with a team specialising in various aspects of the property world, we deliver quality advice to clients with a range of property needs.

What are the different types of surveys and can you help me arrange one?

Depending on the type of property and your requirements, there are three different types of surveys that we can carry out. We have briefly outlined each of these surveys below to give you an idea of what you might need, but our friendly team are always on hand to offer advice and recommend the right survey for your property.

If you only need a survey for a specific area of the property, then we can also provide a bespoke service that provides a report tailored to your needs.

Can you help me get a mortgage?

Yes, we work in association with the Mortgage Advice Bureau to provide expert in-house mortgage advice to our customers, giving you access to offers from more than 90 different lenders. Working with you to understand your situation, we offer bespoke financial advice to help find the right deal for you.

Can you provide valuations for other purposes?

In addition to our market appraisals, our team of RICS registered valuers and chartered surveyors can provide written valuation reports. These can be used for a variety of formal purposes, including tax assessment, matrimonial purposes, internal transfers and charitable disposals or acquisitions.

Speak to our friendly team about your situation and we will guide you through the valuation process to make sure you have everything you need.

Do I need to pay Stamp Duty or Land Transaction Tax?

If you are purchasing a property in England, then you will need to pay Stamp Duty Land Tax. The amount you pay will depend on the purchase price, the reason for purchase, and how many other properties you own.

In Wales, the buyer must pay Land Transaction Tax. Again, the amount will depend on the purchase price, the reason for purchase, and how many other properties you own.

For more information, visit the government websites for England and Wales. Your solicitor should also be able to offer advice.

We’d love to hear from you
