The Hereford does it all, whether that’s in the dairy herd, as a terminal sire or suckler cow, these adaptable cattle can work for you. The Hereford is recognised across the world as an efficient, hardy and productive animal, which produces superior beef.
Suffolk is the flagship domestic breed in the British Isles and is recognised as the leading terminal sire on a variety of commercial ewes to produce top quality prime lamb. The breed has been in existence since the late 1700s.
A rich heritage and many years of classification, milk recording and selective breeding have produced the high performance dairy cow that is the modern British Holstein. Today’s Holstein cow is an unparalleled converter of forage into dairy.
The Texel sheep originates from the island of Texel off the Dutch North-Sea coast. Crossed with Lincoln, Leicester and Wensleydales in the late 19th century the small native Texel breed developed into a popular large and prolific sheep.
The Hampshire Down is a UK native, terminal sire breed. Hampshire sired lambs are easy-care with easy lambing. The Hampshire Down ram is long lived and vigorous and is able to cover a good number of ewes each season.
Shropshire sheep are a Tri-purpose breed originally developed in the early 19th Century in Shropshire and the West Midlands. The Shropshire Sheep Breeders’ Association is the oldest breed society in the UK.
