Auctioneers Halls of Kidderminster were very kindly instructed by Ian and Sue Frank to hold a farm dispersal sale at Oakley Farm last Saturday 8th September 2018. The Frank family have been the tenants at Oakley Farm since 1963 but are now retiring to Herefordshire.
The farm had concentrated on equestrian enterprises in recent times, however, the Tractors and Machinery were all in decent order attracting a large crowd who despite the showery weather bid enthusiastically throughout the sale.
Top price on the day was a very tidy 2001 New Holland TL70 2-wheel drive tractor which sold for £8,000. A 1980’s Massey Ferguson 240 2-wheel drive tractor with Quicke loader sold for a resounding £5,000. The machinery also did exceptionally well and included: McConnel 9-foot Topper £1,000, Logic Paddock Sweeper £2,100, Hydraulic post knocker £1,050, Water Bowser £500, Teagle 6-foot Topper £500, 3 Metre Flat Roller £520, Kuhn Haybob £650, Bale Grab £400 and a Twin axle Tipping Trailer at £720.
Equestrian Items also sold very well including: Monarch 4 Horse walker £3,900, 6 IAE Internal Stables £3,200, Mobile Horse Pen £2,000, Cheval Liberte Horse Trailer £1,850, Industrial Rug Washing Machine £680, Horse rugs to £80, Jumps to £380, 8 rubber stable matts up to £200, 5 corner hay racks to £370, 4 water bowl drinkers to £170, ATV menage leveller £520 and electric fence tape to £150. 2018 4 string baled Hay produced at Oakley Farm also sold well topping at £25/bale.
Auctioneer James McIntyre commented “All in all this was a very well attended and very well supported sale which considerably exceeded the vendors expectations”
