The Countryside Productivity Small Grant (CPSG) scheme provides funding for farmers to purchase specific pieces of agricultural equipment to improve the productivity of their farm.

The scheme opened for applications yesterday, 9th July, and closes on 3rd September 2019.

It provides funding of between £3,000 and £12,000 and the grant awarded represents 40% of the standard cost of items.  A full list of funded items and standard costs is available in Annex 3 of the 2019 guidance, which is available online.

The list of equipment eligible for funding is extensive and includes;

  • Fixed and mobile cattle and sheep handling systems
  • Cattle Crushes
  • EID equipment
  • Pig handling, weighing and sorting equipment
  • Robotic silage and slurry pushers
  • GPS and precision farming equipment

* Please note funding is for new equipment only. Second hand/ex-display/ex-demo items are not eligible. 

Applicants should find out whether their grant application has been successful by the end of September, from which point they will be given 150 days to purchase and install equipment, and claim the grant money back.
