Halls Announces Sponsorship of Shropshire Young Farmers

We are pleased to announce that during our 175th Anniversary year, we are supporting the Shropshire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs in 2020.

David Giles, Halls Managing Director, said Halls is delighted to be supporting the local Young Farmers. “The organisation is led by young people for young people and is crucial for rural communities, not only because it offers a chance for them to socialise and support local residents, but because it gives them opportunities to develop their life skills too as many farms are handed on to the next generation.

“As part of the sponsorship deal, which includes an element of financial support, we hope to offer members insight into planning legislation, diversification, succession planning, even how to make money from old machinery which may not have been used for decades.

“The YFC has a fantastic calendar of events planned, starting off with their annual drama competition last weekend which Jonny Dymond, our Market Manager, was involved in judging. Many of our staff are, or have been, members of the Young Farmers and their offices are based at the Halls Livestock Market in Battlefield too. Having such a close relationship already, offering support through sponsorship was a great way to cement our ties in our 175th anniversary year.”

Chris Potter, SFYFC County Chairman added: “We are very grateful to Halls for the support and sponsorship. With our offices sharing the Battlefield site we’ll be able to work closely with our sponsor to support our members. Agriculture is constantly evolving so training in diversification, planning and succession planning will be invaluable to us.”
